What are the 14 Clicks?

Business owners and entrepreneurs are different.

Business owners aim to provide themselves a job. Entrepreneurs aim to disrupt, innovate, and change the world as we know it. They start businesses, become profitable, hire, grow, grow, grow, sell, and repeat.

We started 14 Clicks to help you do the latter. If that interests you, keep reading.

It takes 14 clicks to Start a Business

The name “14 Clicks” came about as Nick Scheidies and I were looking to start a brand that appeals to and helps entrepreneurs of all ages.

Our first idea was “23 Hats,” because entrepreneurs wear 23 different hats over the course of running a business. Meaning, there are 23 different roles that entrepreneurs play until they can hire people. We want to help entrepreneurs manage each of these roles.

We thought it was good, but we’d have to sell hats and it made my friend Jonathan think of gangsters.

As I was looking for another name, I realized how easy it is to start a business. You could start ten businesses this afternoon if you want. All you have to do is go to your state’s Secretary of State website, reserve a name, and register an LLC.

A process that literally takes 14 clicks.

People think that that’s all they need to do to bear the “entrepreneur” label in their Twitter profile. But that’s not the case.

It takes 14 Clicks to Become an Entrepreneur

Then I thought, “Since starting a business is so easy, why do 90% of them fail?”

It’s because people don’t understand what goes into running a business, into becoming an entrepreneur.

It’s hard work. There are certain things that every entrepreneur should know. There are certain skills that every entrepreneur should have. There are certain ways that every entrepreneur should conduct their business.

There’s a science, a process, and a system to running a successful business.

Move forward with a Purpose, move forward with Inertia but just keep moving forwards. Some people make it in their 20’s, some in their 70’s each makes a difference in the world we live in by their contribution of unexpected, innovative, disruptive ideas. Love the site – keep spreading the infection. In todays economy its more probable that job security will come from what you create around you than from what our create for others.

Hey Allen! I appreciate the comment. I hope to see you at SAGE next month. I think a friend of mine is presenting. He’s 22-years-old and has a 6-figure business that he kicked off last July. I’m looking forward to SAGE’s response.
